I joined Toastmasters because I was terrified of speaking in public, so much so, that my mind would go blank and I would forget what I was supposed to say. Within my first few months with ToastED I learnt how to structure and deliver a speech, to actively listen and to provide feedback, but most importantly I gained the confidence that I was looking for.

Speaking in front of people is not so terrifying anymore. What is more, the members are very warm and encouraging, always there to support you, give you advice and constructive feedback to help you grow.

I was already a professional speaker when I joined Toastmasters and have been blown away at how much the program has helped me to up my game - not only as a speaker, but also as a leader.

The meetings are a brilliant way to work on material for professional engagements and receive useful feedback and suggestions to take a presentation to the next level.

Toastmasters is a wonderfully safe place to build your confidence and practice skills you want to improve and I can't recommend it highly enough!

ToastED Toastmasters has become an inspiring and educating part of my life. I have gained confidence to stand in front of people, having fun to speak and be creative with thoughts and words knowing that this is what counts .

Listening to other speakers and special guests is stimulating and inspiring. The understanding and skills of Leadership are unexpectedly a much appreciated new part of my life. It’s a welcoming and deliciously supportive club.

Growing up I was a shy, introverted boy and I was riddled with anxiety. I avoided doing speeches in front of pupils at school, presenting projects to students at varsity and colleagues at my workplace. I ducked and dived out of any situation that would put me in the spot light. This included leadership positions where I would have to take on responsibility.

At ToastED, I have found my voice. I have grown in confidence to say what I believe is true to myself. I have learnt that taking responsibility is power and I have discovered that I have the power to accomplish great things in life. This is a wonderful club to grow individually and as a collective.
